What it is

The triathlon bike Cervelo built its name on.

The Cervelo P-Series is the bike that's been carrying podium finishes at every distance from sprint to Ironman for more than a decade. It's the aero platform Cervelo has refined generation after generation -- aggressive enough for serious time-trial position, comfortable enough for full Ironman bike legs, and built around a triathlon-specific fit window that you don't get on a road bike with clip-on aerobars.

If you're upgrading from a road bike with bolted-on extensions, moving up from an older TT rig, or coming back to multisport after a few years away, the P-Series is the bike most riders end up on. Shimano Ultegra Di2 -- electronic shifting, smooth from the aerobars, dependable in race conditions -- finishes a build that races out of the box and trains all season long.

Who it's for

Built for the multisport athlete.

The P-Series isn't a road bike with weird handlebars. It's a triathlon-specific platform with a steeper seat tube angle, a fit window engineered around the aero position, and integration designed for race-day setup (storage, hydration, cabling). If you're racing -- or training to race -- it's the right tool.

  • First-time triathletes upgrading from a road bike with clip-ons
  • Sprint and Olympic distance racers who want a real TT position
  • Half and full Ironman athletes building a long-course rig
  • Older TT bike owners ready for electronic shifting and disc brakes
  • Anyone serious enough about aero to want a Retul fit on a real tri bike
Why ride one around Lake Norman

The Charlotte / Lake Norman triathlon scene runs on bikes like this.

Greater Charlotte has one of the strongest multisport communities in the Southeast. There's a reason: the lake offers reliable open-water swim training, the rolling roads around Davidson, Mooresville, and Cornelius give you the climbing and flats you need for race prep, and the local race calendar is loaded from spring through fall.

Whether you're prepping for the Lake Norman YMCA Triathlon, a Ramblin' Rose, an Olympic-distance race in the Carolinas, or a 70.3 or full Ironman further afield, you'll find the riding around here trains you for it. The P-Series is the bike that handles the local routes -- lake loops, county greenways, race-pace intervals -- and survives the travel to your A-race.

Why buy from Spirited Cyclist

Triathlon bikes are about fit. Fit is what we do.

A tri bike is only as good as the position you ride it in. The wrong fit on the right bike will hurt your race times and your back. We take fit seriously.

  • Retul bike fitting on-site -- triathlon-specific positions including saddle, aerobar height, reach, drop, and pad width
  • Staff who race or have raced multisport
  • Trade-in program if you're upgrading from a current bike
  • Financing available for the right buyers
  • Service department factory-trained on Shimano Di2, disc brakes, and integrated cockpits

Common questions

Triathletes ask us this.

What sizes do you have in stock?

As of today, we have the Cervelo P-Series Ultegra Di2 in size 51 and size 54. Inventory moves -- call us at the shop to confirm availability before you drive in.

Is the Ultegra Di2 build mechanical or electronic?

Electronic. Di2 ("digital integrated intelligence") is Shimano's wired electronic shifting system. Crisp shifts from the aerobars and the base bar, no cable stretch over a season of training, and easier hand position changes mid-race.

Can I get fitted on the bike at your shop?

Yes. We offer Retul bike fitting on site, with triathlon-specific protocols (saddle setback, aerobar reach and drop, pad width, hip angle, shoulder roll). Most P-Series buyers schedule a fit at purchase. Pricing and timing varies -- call to book.

Do you take trade-ins?

We do. Bring your current bike in for an appraisal during your visit. Older TT rigs, road bikes, and mountain bikes are all eligible. The appraisal value can be applied as a credit toward your P-Series purchase.

Is financing available?

Yes, for qualified buyers. Talk to us at the shop and we'll walk through current financing partners and rates.

What's the warranty?

Cervelo's frame warranty applies, and we handle warranty service in-house as an authorized dealer. Frames, Shimano Di2 components, and disc brake systems all have their respective manufacturer warranties -- we facilitate claims so you don't have to.

Can I really test ride a triathlon bike?

Yes, in a controlled way. Tri bikes are a commitment, so we set up test rides differently from road bikes -- typically a fit session on the bike followed by a short ride near the shop. Call ahead to schedule.
